Computers & WIFI

• desktop computers are available to anyone with a PCCL Card.
  
• Adults with children may use the computers in the Youth Services area.
  
• Computer sessions are for 2 hours at a time but may be extended depending on current demand.
  
• All the library computers are the same - they have internet access (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers) Microsoft Office Suite with Publisher and USB ports for saving to a flash drive.
  
• Printing from the computers is $.25 per page in black and white and $.50 per page in color.

The library offers laptops for in-library use. Check them out from any Circulation Desk.

• Must present a valid library card & photo ID to check out a laptop.
  
• Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and they are not reservable.
  
• Checkout is for 3 hours, with no renewals.
  
• The last checkout is one hour before closing.
  
• Laptops may not be taken into the restrooms.
  
• Laptops may not be left unattended. If a laptop is found unattended, the borrower may be suspended from the laptop checkout program.
  
• Damage to laptops and/or any laptop accessories may incur fees up to the total replacement costs of those items.
  
• Laptops must be returned to the Desk at which they were borrowed 30 minutes prior to closing.

The PCCL system provides free wireless internet access for patrons sitting in range with devices capable of receiving wireless signals.  PCCL staff can provide information on the settings necessary to access the Internet via these connections.

The PCCL wireless connection is not secure.  Information sent from or to your device can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software.  Users should not transmit their credit card information, passwords, and any other sensitive personal information while using any wireless hot spot.

PCCL will not be responsible for any personal information (e.g., credit card) that is compromised, or for any damage caused to your hardware or software due to electrical surges, security issues, or consequences caused by viruses or hacking.
